There are 1000s of spreadsheets and templates for sale.īut this is a major concern for your company. it’s not as customisable or flowing as Excel (no formulas) however it does make stakeholder management a lot easier. You can also build in separate slides for your RAIDS, RACIS, Actions etc.

You can create a pretty effective status report slide that encompasses most of what you need to show holistically at high level. If your company are using excel then they will have PowerPoint too. PowerPoint is really the way to go for presentations, always has been really. With most excel related sheets however, the visual quality is limited and presenting any of the data usually means screen grabbing and pasting into PowerPoint slides. I created my own template for both of these, as I found there was not really anything out there that encompassed everything I needed (and each company tends to value different metrics). What are you looking to track on excel? Is it your simple governance and planning? (RAID, action log, timelines etc) or are you looking for something more along the lines of reporting (sprint progress with story points, escaped defects, cycle times etc)? The problem with excel, as many will know, is that it starts to become extremely unstable with large amounts of data (a problem that Microsoft are well aware of and offer no help to remediate). I come from companies that also used excel to keep track of project governance.
